The soldiers looked up to Macbeth, but later on in act v, their view on him changed. Macbeth killed his best friend and a king than came to visit for power and he went off the rails. He was seeing his best friend in his castle when he was not there. The soldiers probably think he's loosing his mind and now acting strange.
