Why did okonkwo tell the boys stories of violence and bloodshed

Because he does not want his sons to become too feminine like his son Nwoye so he tries to tell them more masculine stories to replace the stories that the women told their young children.

Okonkwo tells the boys those stories hoping they'll learn from him and because he hopes to plant seeds of aggression and violence they'll need in the future
