In the play, "The Tempest", when a huge storm battered a ship carrying Alonso, (the King of Naples), and the others and they discovered that Ferdinand (Alonso's son) could not be found, Alonso, Gonzalo, Sebastian and Antonio believed that Ferdinand had drowned and is probably dead. The truth, however, was that Ferdinand was 'busy' falling in love with Miranda.
