John Willoughy, particularly as compared to Edward Ferras, is exactly what Marianne is looking for in a gentleman. Like a hero from a fairy tale, he sweeps to her rescue when she falls down the hill and carries her home in his arms. He is handsome, beautiful, in fact, and graceful and brave and charming and energetic. At least that's the conclusion Marianne draws in the few minutes they are together. hope this helps, have an amazing day :)
