D. raising the most money; this is because the more money a candidate has, the more campaigns and ads he/she can use to spread their name throughout a nation

The biggest advantage to a candidate in a national election is raising the most money (D).

Most of the time, the candidate that spends the most money usually wins the election. More money can be spent on advertising and other things that help spread the name of the candidate. Some say that raising money isn't directly coorelated to winning, especially with incumbents, but there seems to be a connection. Simply having local popularity won't give you the edge in a national election.
