The president can reject a proposed law. While it is the responsibility of Congress to introduce and pass legislations; these legislation either get approved or rejected by the president. When a bill is presented to the president from Congress he may sign it into law within ten days If he agrees with the bill. If he opposes the bill, he may veto it and return the bill to Congress suggesting modification or changes. His legislative powers are strictly defined by the Constitution and by a system of checks and balances among the executive, legislative and judicial branches of the government.
