A nurse notes orders of no nasogastric tubes and no nasotracheal suctioning for a pediatric patient with a severe head injury and skull fracture. what is the rationale for these orders?

You allow the patient first to elevate the head.

The appropriate orders which are required are applying the cold pack. You have to insert a nasogastric tube. Cerebrospinal fluid leakage may be seen to appear where rhinorrhea indicates a dural tear.
If nasogastric which is being inserted is increased can bring out a risk of infection. For example, meningitis.

Let the patient, elevating the head, and applying cold pack are appropriate orders. Insert nasogastric tube. Rhinorrhoea may indicate a dural tear with cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage, and insertion of a nasogastric tube will increase the risk for infections such as meningitis.
