Write an equation to model the total amount of packages you sold and another equation to model how much money you raised. Then solve the system of equations.

Let total number of roses sold be x and total number of tulips sold be y
Roses = $8
Tulips = $6
Total collected = $92

x+ y = 14 ————— (1)
8x + 6y = 92 ————(2)

From (1):
x + y = 14
x = 14 - y ———— sub into (2)

8(14 - y) + 6y = 92
112 - 8y + 6y = 92
2y = 20
y = 10 ———- sub into (1)
x+10 = 14
x = 14 - 10
x = 4

Ans: Roses = 4, tulips = 10
