You would have to simplify both of your sides

We add
`6y` to the
`6`

Like:
`y = 6y + 6`

Now subtract
`6y` to your sides

Like:
`y - 6y \\ 6y + 6 - 6y = -5y = 6`

Now we have to divide by
`-5` on each of your sides

Like:
`(-5y)/(-5) = (-6)/(5)`

Answer:
`y = (-6)/(5)`
