Hi,

I can use the formula y = mx + b to solve for b.

-2 = -2(6) + b ... Substitute values
-2 = -12 + b ... Simplify multilpication
10 = b ... Add 12 to both sides

I now know that the y-intercept is b, and since I am given that the slope is -2, I can write the line's equation in slope-intercept form:

y = -2x + 10
