When Rosencrantz and Guildenstern exit, she tells Claudius about her encounter with Hamlet. She says that he is as mad as the sea during a violent storm; she also tells Claudius that Hamlet has killed Polonius.

After Hamlet accidentally kills Polonius and directs a play that shows the death of a king at the hands of his nephew , Claudius realizes that Hamlet wants to get revenge for his father's death. In that way, King Claudius decides to elaborate a plan that involves Rosencratz and Guildenstern. As part of this plan, Rosencratz and Guildenstern are in charge of taking Hamlet to England. Moreover, Claudius gives them a letter that orders the execution of Hamlet. In that way, he plans to have Hamlet killed.
