The nurse should understand that Clindamycin is the preferred antibiotic to be given to patients who have osteomyelitis but she should also take note of the drug's side effects that the patient may exhibit such as the feeling of being nauseous, vomiting, stomach pain, mild heartburn, irritation on the throat and even an abnormal discharge.
