Wipe those tears away oh youthful one. ;^;! We shall solve this! (I might be vague with my explanations for some questions, so if you want a more detailed explanations on certain questions feel free to ask!)

Question 2: There are two ways we can find the answer for question 2.
First way: Adding the the number of carnations as well as pansies, (42 + 21) we get 63. 63 divided by 7 equals 9.
Second way: 42/7 = 6 and 21/7 = 3. Adding them up we get 9.

Question 3: According to the word-problem, John made TWICE as many muffins Sue did, which was 12. Twice means times 2 in mathematical terms. Thus, 12 x 2. 12 x 2 equals 24. Hold on, we aren't done yet :P! We need to find out how many boxes we need if each holds 4 muffins. This means we are dividing our 24 muffins by 4 for each box. 24/4 = 6.

In conclusion, 6 is our answer. They will need 6 boxes for all the muffins they make (which is 24)

Question 4: The number of oranges that fill a single box is 12. To fill 4 boxes we need 48 oranges (4 * 12 equals 48). The number of oranges Tony has currently is 42. He needs 6 more oranges in order to fill all the boxes (48 - 42 = 6),

Question 5: We can solve this by using the equation (3 * 12) + (4 * 7) = --

The question asks how much tickets will cost for 3 adults and (indication word of addition/combination) 4 children. We know that for per one child, a ticket equals 7 dollars. To figure out the cost of tickets for 4 children, we simply multiply 4 by 7. This equals 28. (3 * 12) + (28) = -

To figure out the cost of tickets for 3 adults, we multiply 3 by 12. The answer would be 36. (36) + (28) = -

Now solve. 36 + 28 = 64. Our answer is 64 for question 5, therefore C.
