I believe it is the TCP protocol (Transmission control protocol)  that is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the communication. This protocol enables two hosts to establish a connection and exchange streams of data and guarantees delivery of data and also guarantees that the packets will be delivered in the same order they were sent. It works with internet protocol which defines how computers send packets of data to each other.
