If sales tax is 6% of the cost of the item, the sales tax is equal to 6% of $34:

What is 6% of $34
x=0.06($34)
x=$2.04

Hello!

6% As a decimal is 0.06. To find out how much tax would be added to the shirt, you must multiply the cost of the shirt by the percentage of tax.

34 × 0.06 = 2.04

So, the sales tax is $2.04.
