What was an effect of having so many men away from home during World War 11?

Haven’t talked about this yet but I’m guessing it was pretty similar to when all the men were out during the civil war . There was, I’m guessing, in this case a generation of women that were unmarried due to the war. so as an effect like a lot of single older women probably after the war. Also, probably like what happened in the civil war days —again I’m guessing— the women dealt with things at home while the men were away.

World War 2 changes due to having men away:

It changed the role of women in the workforce when they took over the jobs that were mostly seen as jobs for men. This will be one of the biggest and most noteworthy effect of having men away!
