Given the right environment, it might be able to help to be impatient.

Why? Because you probably want something. That want or need acts as motivation and desire, which fuels your drive to satisfy the need. On the other hand, being impatient might mean that you don't like what you're doing... which isn't exactly a good thing unless we're talking about the concept of discipline.
