I use an equation, then find the variable
p=price of the item
t=tax
c=total cost

( (t)/(100) * p) + p = c
Now, you can figure out the equation by putting in the number, or you can do a shortcut. Find the percentage of 28.8 of 320, and you'll get your answer.

(28.8)/(320) = .09 * 100 = 9
It was 9%.

Tell me if this helps!!
