The correct answer is C) geographic differences.

The earliest disputes in the United States government could be traced to geographic differences.

The geographic differences between the states created the early disputes in the government of the United States. We have the case of slavery in the colonies. The British influence on the colonies was in part because the geographic closeness of England to the East coast of the U.S. The Northern states used slaves in the fabrics meanwhile the Southern states in the farm fields. But in the north, people realized what slavery meant for the country and started the demands of freedom for the slaves, something that clearly was not the case with the states in the South.
