What cellular processes must occur after transfection for this gene to be expressed in these cells? where in the cell would you expect this enzyme to be found?

In order for a transfected gene to be expressed in the cell it firstly needs to be transcribed into a messenger RNA molecule, and after that, it needs to be translated into a protein. If the enzyme that is expressed is Beta-galactosidase then you should expect to find it in the lysosomes.
