The Haines Drama Club had 40 members. Of those, 2/5 were females. After an open audition, 20 new members joined the club, but the females still made up 2/5 of the membership. How many new members were female?

Originally, before th auditions only 16 members were female. After the audition there was a total of 24 females. So 24-16 would equal all of the new female members which would be 8.

Answer: 8 new female members
