Yes- it's our main greenhouse gas.
Along with other gases like methane which can be much more harmful, carbon dioxide is released by the billions of tons every day, which causes the ozone layer to deteriorate, and the Earth to heat up.
As much as other gases are harmful as well, carbon dioxide is the main one.
