Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity of an object relative to time. An objects net acceleration is the net result of any and all forces acting on the object as described by Newton's second law of motion. The SI units for acceleration is meter per square seconds (ms^-2). Therefore in this case Acceleration of an object is equal to the net force (sum of all forces acting on an object) acting on an object divided by the objects mass.
