Find the area of an isosceles triangle if the length of the angle bisector drawn towards the base is 3.5 in and the length of the base is 1.7 in.

Just use the common formula for the area of a triangle:

A = (base)(height)/2

Here, that area is A = (1.7 in)(3.5 in)/2 = 2.975 square inches (answer)
