Why did american industry switch from home businesses to factories?

2. New machines needed a power source, so production had to be near one.

3. Machines were too large for homes.

Explanation: I got it right on OW and all these answer make sense and having all these things in your house would be very uncomfortable. Also having all these big bulky machines in factories would be much easier for multiple workers to manage.
