The answer is nucleus. The nucleus contains DNA chromosomes that have genes responsible for coding for proteins. These proteins subsequently determine the phenotype of an organism . The genes in the cells are turned on or off in pluripotent cells such that the cell differentiates into a particular cell type e.g skin cell, liver cell or blood cell.
