the earth has a magnetic north and south. How does this help up with evidence to support the theory of Continental Drift?

Easy. The magnetic poles shift at regular intervals.
The ocean floor at the mid Atlantic ridge shows the North/South reversals at regular intervals and the pattern is the mirrored on both sides of the rift.
