m+n=5
m-n=3
To use the substitution method, the first step is to isolate a variable on one side of the equation.
You may use additon to find the solutions because the "n"'s cancel out, leaving you with only one variable.

(read my attached work first!)

Step 3: plug the value you found for "m"(4) into an equation to solve for the value of "n".

m+n=5
(4)+n=5
-4 -4
n=1

m=4 n=1

Answer:
The solution is (4,1)
