96 cmsquared is the correct answer when you are working shapes like this take and cut the triangle in half and make it a square or rectangle (only works on some triangles) so it is easer to make the answer

Answer:

I got 56 cm²

Area of Square: Base × Height

4 × 4 = 16

Area of Triangle: 1/2 (Base × Height)

(There are four triangles).

4 × 5 × .5 = 20 × .5 = 10

4 × 5 × .5 = 20 × .5 = 10

4 × 5 × .5 = 20 × .5 = 10

4 × 5 × .5 = 20 × .5 = 10

10 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 16 = 40 + 16 = 56 = 56 cm²

hope this helps!
