What were the major features of industrial cities that arose in the united states in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries? what institutions and innovations helped make urban life distinctive?

Most of the cities included factories as well as coming along apartment building in which helped people not only crowd and turn it into an actually city but be closer and not have to move for their job anymore. Electricity was a major innovation along with the steam engine and motion pictures.
