I think Geroge Washington's presidency was so important in the development of the young nation because he set precedents for the other presidents to follow such as creating the Cabinet and establishing the Court System.

Because the nation was at such an early and crucial part in its history it needed someone who was capable of holding office and someone's who's had this type of responsibility before to lead and guide the young nation
