During the Renaissance, Leonardo da Vinci painted the famous painting called “The Last Supper”. He used a different technique that was actually developed because of it. Leonardo was commissioned by Duke Ludovico for the refectory of the monastery of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan. In order to paint it, Vinci used an oil mix and applied it to drywall.
