Fahrenheit temperature f is a linear function of celsius temperature

c. the ordered pair left parenthesis 0 comma 32 right parenthesis(0,32) is an ordered pair of this function because 0°c is equivalent to 32 degrees upper f32°f, the freezing point of water. the ordered pair left parenthesis 100 comma 212 right parenthesis(100,212) is also an ordered pair of this function because 100 degrees upper c100°c is equivalent to 212 degrees upper f212°f, the boiling point of water. use the two given points and the point-slope formula to write f as a function of
c. find the fahrenheit temperature of an oven at 130 degrees upper c130°c.

The first thing you should know is that to perform a linear function we need at least two points. In this case, they give us two points, which are the following:
(0.32)
(100,212)
To write the equation of the line, we use the general equation.
f-fo = m (c-co)
where,
m: slope
(co, fo): ordered pair.
The equation of the line will be:
m = (f2-f1) / (c2-c1)
m = ((212) - (32)) / ((100) - (0)) = 1.8
taking the point (0, 32) we have that the equation of the line is
f = 1.8c + 32
the fahrenheit temperature of an oven at 130 degrees 130 ° c is:
f = 1.8 * (130) + 32 = 266
answer:
f = 1.8c + 32
266 F
