12a + 11c = 234
7a + 11c = 164.....multiply by -1
----------------------
12a + 11c = 234
-7a - 11c = - 164 (result of multiplying by -1)
---------------------add
5a = 70
a = 70/5
a = 14 <== adult tickets cost $ 14

7a + 11c = 164
7(14) + 11c = 164
98 + 11c = 164
11c = 164 - 98
11c = 66
c = 66/11
c = 6 <=== child tickets cost $ 6
