Should Africans and Europeans be held equally accountable for the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade? If not, which group should be viewed as primarily responsible? Is assigning accountability for this historical atrocity important to mitigating contemporary racial issues?

Answer:

The Exploration of the Americas had already started violently with brutal conquistadors such as Cortez. Slavery was then adopted to create products such as sugar. This type of labor was developed by Europeans who would bring slaves gained from Africa to the Americas that would work for the rest of their lives on plantations. Later the early stages of the US would part take in the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. The US was founded by Europeans who knew of slavery and implemented it in the American economic system. Mainly in the Southern Region which many Europeans that wanted to make an economic profit had immigrated there. The European countries should be held accountable for the atrocities committed and in which today people have protested about.
