Germany: Along with the feeling of social and economic discontent of the German middle class, strong anti-Semitism grew, motivated by the idea that the Jewish people had crucified Jesus, and because the Jews had greater economic gains than many Germans. Likewise, the Nazi party led by Adolf Hitler managed to gain much support from the Germans by being against the Jews, beginning by denying basic civil rights to the Jews, such as banning marriages between Jews and Germans. Also, in the United States, before it entered the war, the Ku Klux Klan was in favor of Hitler and the Nazis; and marches were made against the Jews. Hitler's totalitarianism would not have been so accepted had it not included hatred towards the Jews, and millions of deaths would have been avoided.
