300 stundents - - - > 100%
x students - - - - > 35%
x= (35*300)/100=105 students

The best way, in my opinion, to remember this technique is with a cross. So imagine a line from 300 to 35% and anoter one from x to 100%. You multiply the things at the ends of one line that you both know the value of (you know that you have 300 students and that 35% of them don't have siblings) and divide the product with the known amount at the end of the other line (which has a variable in it).

we can convert 35% directly to a decimal:

35% = 0.35

Then, doing the calculation by hand or with a calculator, we find

35% of 300 = 0.35 x 300 = 105.0

So the final answer is

35% of 300 = 105

So, 105 students don't have any siblings.
I hope I helped!

Edit: since it is how many have siblings, you would now
subtract 105 from 300
getting 195
so, 195 students have siblings.
