The people of eastern Asia's main food source is rice. This means they are reliant on it, for not only businesses such as restaurants, but also at home. Poor families rely on rice as their main food because it is more filling and in abundance. If the price of rice goes up it causes a huge influx in costs for living and it affects everyone.
