Explanation: The Western church believed that icons (images, statues, etc.) could be used in church while the Eastern church didn’t. This led to the Eastern church going around churches and destroying these icons, which led to them being called “image-breakers.” This happened in the 8th and 9th centuries (the Middle Ages).
