In the eighteenth century, the world saw the invention of the chronometer which allowed navigators to tell time more accurately as well as know their coordinates more accurately with no dependency on the weather conditions or the motion of the ship. A chronometer measures time, it is known for its accuracy when being used in a state of constant motion or variations in the environment like humidity, temperature and air pressure.
