Jurisdiction is an interesting question because there are two forms, original and appellate. For this case, because the statute is federal Ralph Dewey is going to be tried in a federal district court. However if Ralph is found guilty and chooses to appeal, the Supreme Court of the United States would have appellate jurisdiction over his case.
