Heart disease is the leading cause of death in North America. The psychology behind this is that most Americans do no consume the proper foods with the right nutrients for the body. Heart health is something that is bettered or worsened by one's eating habits.

North America's leading cause of death is heart disease in both men and women and across various ethnicities.

25% of all deaths in North America are caused by heart disease, particularly coronary heart disease. Due to unhealthy diets and lack of exercise, north Americans are commonly diagnosed with diabetes and obesity. Both of these are associated with heart disease that can lead to death.
