In the odyssey, what evidence did homer provide to give the reader a clue whether odysseus will or will not heed circe's advice?

When Circe suggested he stay clear of the island she warns of the dangers and how he will most likely lose many men, this caused the men to throw a fit and Odysseus was forced to follow Circe's advice.
