Why are you more likely to see a lunar eclipse than a solar eclipse? When does a lunar eclipse occur?

u can more likely see a lunar eclipse because earth creates a larger shadow than the moon. when there's a larger shadow, more places will be likely to see the lunar eclipse. the solar eclipse is much rarer than a lunar eclipse. a lunar eclipse occurs when the earth passes through the moon and the sun, into the umbra and penumbra.
