I am not certain but it makes sense to me that if the acting force, pressure, on the gas is doubled then the volume would be reduced.

V_1 = initial volume of gas = v L


V_2 = final volume of gas = ?

Now put all the given values in the above equation, we get the final volume of gas.

V_2=(v)/(2)L
