if the value of x is negative, then 10 - x will be a positive answer greater then 10
for example :....if x = -2
10 - (-2) = 10 + 2 = 12
when u have 2 negatives multiplied by each other, it becomes positive...so ur actually adding

If the value of x is negative, then the quantity -x is positive, and
10-x will be greater than 10.
