A recipe calls for 3 cups of sugar and 9 cups of water. If the recipe is quadrupled, how many gallons of water are used?

If the recipe is quadrupled, it would mean 3 and 9 will be multiplied by 4. so,

3 x 4 = 12

9 x 4 = 36

so, 36 gallons of water would be used.
