Neurotransmitters are intracellular messengers that mediate transmission of impulses in the nerve cells whereas hormones regulates the functioning of various body organs. Norepinephrine and epinephrine are both hormones and neurotransmitters since they transmit impulses and at the same time regulate activity of organs in the body.
