Why do you think more victims don't report crimes? how does this affect the criminal justice system?

Many victims are afraid of the consequences in reporting a crime. A victim may not report a crime because they are afraid that the suspect will get retribution, someone not believing them, or the perpetrator hurting them. Due to this, many crime's go unsolved and crime statistics are inaccurate.

This makes the criminal justice system unfair because it lets guilty people walk free, since their victims are too afraid to speak up against them.
