Gender is an example of Nominal qualitative data as in this data, values represent discrete units and are used to label variables, that have no quantitative value. Nominal data that has no order.

Therefore if we would change the order of its values, the meaning would not change. Nominal data is a sub-type of nominal scale with only two categories (e.g. male/female) is called "dichotomous". And Qualitative data describes whereas quantitative data defines.

Therefore, Gender is an example of Nominal Qualitative data.
